Day 1 | USA-Beijing
Fly to Beijing, the starting point for our China adventure.
Day 2 | Arrive Beijing
Arrive in the nation’s capital and greet our tour guide in the arrivals hall. Transfer to our luxury accommodations and rest up for a full day’s sightseeing tomorrow.
Day 3 | Beijing-Shenyang (AB, L, D)
Our sightseeing tour of New Beijing begins with a visit to one of the new attractions like Qianmen Street. We will also have picture stops at the “Bird’s Nest” National Stadium, the amazing “Water Cube” Aquatics Centre, and the National Grand Theatre. Later in the afternoon, we board a flight bound for Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province, which is also known as Shengjing or Fengtian.
Day 4 | Shenyang (AB, L, DP)
Our city tour of Shenyang explores the Former Imperial Palace. First built in 1625, the Former Imperial Palace of Shenyang is one of two royal complexes extant in China today. The splendid and distinctly ethnic architectural style of the palace are still in perfect shape. The other stops are the Former Residence of Zhang Xueliang, Qing Dynasty Street, and City Hall Square. Shenyang cuisine has a long history, its dumpling banquet is one of the best, and “Laobian Dumplings” is the most representative restaurant. Let us enjoy the dumpling banquet tonight.
Day 5 | Shenyang-Dalian (AB, L, DP)
Dalian is a beautiful seaside city and a world of squares. Dalian is also famous for its amazing 25-miles long beach. Driving along the seaside highway, we will view many attractions such as the Beida (Grand North) Bridge, Hutan (Tiger’s Beach) Amusement Park, Xinghai Bay, and Xinghai Park. Xinghai Square is the largest square in Asia, built to commemorate Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997. The final stop of today’s sightseeing is the museum. The seafood hot pot local cuisine will be served for dinner tonight.
Day 6 | Dalian-Lushun-Dalian (AB, L, D)
Start the day with a bus ride to the national scenic resort and famed military harbour, Lushun. Russian and Japanese occupation, and the Japanese-Russian War of 1894-1895, had bequeathed this city with quite a few landmarks, such as Baiyushan Pagoda, Lushun Prison, and Lushun Harbour. Head back to Dalian later in the afternoon.
Day 7 | Dalian-Qingdao (AB, L, DP)
Board a short flight to Qingdao, a beautiful harbour city on the Yellow Sea. Numerous European style villas and churches have turned this city into a veritable world architecture museum. Our sightseeing tour today will feature visits to Xiaoqingdao Island, Badaguan, Zhanqiao Bridge, and Wushi Square. Enjoy Shandong specialty cuisine dinner tonight.
Day 8 | Qingdao-Laoshan-Qingdao(AB,L,DP)
Continue our sightseeing tour of Qingdao with a boat ride to the sea and a visit to Laoshan, the “Top Spectacular Mountain on the sea”. Renowned of the visits of Qinshihuang and Emperor Wudi of the Han, Laoshan is famous as the cradle of Chinese Taoism as well. Taiqing Palace, the most famous Taoist temple in Laoshan, is visited. Qingdao Beer is one of the finest brands in China and also enjoys brisk sales on the world market. The Qingdao Beer Museum was built in celebration of the 100- year anniversary of the brand. We visit the museum and have a chance to sample the beer. After a whole day sightseeing, a fine seafood dinner will be provided for your enjoyment.
Day 9 | Qingdao-Weihai (AB, L, D)
After a visit to Zhanshan Temple in Qingdao, we tour toward the famed port city Weihai. Weihai was known as Weihaiwei before. There is Liugong Island known as “Fence in the East”, has been opened as a state forest park. During the Sino-Japanese War, the commander’s headquarters of the Chinese Beiyang Navy was built on the island. A museum and Huancui Park are visited before we check in to the hotel.
Day 10 | Weihai-Penglai-Yantai (AB, L, DP)
About 50 miles off the shore of Yantai,Penglai is a fairyland-like resort on the northernmost tip of Shangdong Peninsula. The mystique of Penglai is mostly ascribed to the mirages that occur beyond the sea, and the Penglai Pavilion proves an ideal place for watching the sea, the sunrise, and the sunset. After sightseeing tour of Penglai, we travel to Yantai Hill. Located in the north part of the city, Yantai Hill with its” Yantai Stone” Lighthouse has become the symbol and a must see of Yantai. Enjoy seafood cuisine dinner at Yantai.
Day 11 | Yantai-Beijing (AB, L, DP)
Before we board a short flight back to Beijing, we finish our sightseeing in Yantai with a visit to Zhangyu Winery Museum. The Zhangyu Winery was established in 1892, mainly produces brandy and red wines, and now is the largest winery in Asia. We will have a chance to sample the wine. Tonight in Beijing, we taste one of China’s culinary treasures, the renowned Peking Duck Dinner Banquet.
Day 12 | Beijing-USA (AB)
Our China adventure ends as we fly back to the US.
